Santarvis Brown, Ed.D., J.D.

Director of Compliance & Professional Standards

Serving as the Superintendent for Career Prep Academy, Dr. Santarvis Brown is a globally recognized educator and changemaker with more than two decades of leadership across the educational landscape. With a distinguished record of service in both academic and faith-based arenas, he has held transformative roles including department chair, associate provost, chief academic officer, and K–12 principal, driving institutional excellence from the classroom to the boardroom.

A celebrated thought leader, Dr. Brown has been featured on the Nasdaq screen in Times Square and has lectured at the University of Oxford, reflecting his global reach and influence in education and leadership development. He currently serves on the faculties of the University of Virginia, Florida International University, and the European Higher Education Institute, and is a frequent contributor to Brainz Magazine and other leadership platforms.

Dr. Brown’s commitment to civic engagement and transformational leadership has earned him numerous accolades, including being named one of the Top 100 Global Leaders in Education, receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award from President Biden, and being honored as Top Educator of the Year by the International Association of Top Professionals. He was also spotlighted in Aspire Navigators Magazine as one of the "Most Remarkable Leaders Shaping the Future of Education, 2024."

An ordained elder and the current pastor of Greater Mt. Pleasant AME Church in Hollywood, Florida, Dr. Brown embodies the principles of servant leadership. He is deeply involved in service organizations such as Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, King James #15 Masonic Lodge, and the 100 Black Men. He also chairs the Board of Trustees for the Minority Freedom Community Fund.

Dr. Brown is the author of several leadership books, including Leading While Limping, Oh the Leading You Will Do, Brothers Minutes, and Leading with Faith, Influence, and Purpose. He holds a bachelor’s degree, three master’s degrees, and two doctoral degrees, an Ed.D. in Educational Administration and a J.D. making him a respected voice in both academic and legal discourse.


Scott LeHockey M. Ed.

Interim Superintendent & Chief Academic Officer

Scott LeHockey brings 29 years of educational experience in education, leadership, and innovation, after retiring from Duval Public school June 2025, to his role as Chief Academic Officer at Career Prep Academy of South Florida. His distinguished career with Duval County Public Schools includes leading initiatives in virtual education, high school acceleration programs, and instructional leadership.

In addition to his domestic achievements, Scott has engaged in international educational initiatives. He collaborated with various U.S. federal departments and agencies, as well as the Prime Minister’s office and Cabinet in Jamaica, contributing to educational development efforts in literacy at eight secondary schools.

Scott has held several key supervisory positions, including oversight of Duval Virtual Instruction Academy and district-wide high school acceleration programs. His work has focused on expanding access to advanced academic opportunities and implementing innovative virtual learning strategies that support student achievement across diverse learning environments.

He began his career as a gifted and Advanced Placement social studies teacher, earning a reputation for his dedication to academic excellence and student success. His progression into leadership reflects his deep commitment to improving educational systems and creating meaningful pathways to college and career readiness.

Scott holds a Master’s of Educational Leadership from the American College of Education, a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Florida International University, and an Associate’s of Arts from the University of Florida.

Outside of his professional life, Scott is a proud father to two sons. Sean, a graduate of the University of South Florida and Florida State University, currently works in Washington, D.C., for the U.S. Congressman representing Tampa. Joshua is a recent graduate of the University of Florida and will begin law school at UF in the fall.

Scott will lead the development of academic strategy, support instructional excellence, and work to ensure that all students are equipped with the skills and confidence they need to thrive in college, careers, and beyond.
